Ron Artest AKA Metta World Peace changes name to Beavis and Butthead

Ron Artest changes his name to Beavis and Butthead as the LA Lakers cut him

The LA Lakers waived Metta World Peace on Thursday under the NBA’s amnesty provision, which will save the team about $15 million in luxury tax. He was set to earn $7.7 million next season, which the Lakers still must pay.

“It’s tough to say goodbye to a player such as Metta, who has been a significant part of our team the past four seasons,” Lakers general manager Mitch Kupchak said. “For anyone who’s had the opportunity to get to know him, it’s impossible not to love him.”

Now it’s reported his friends and parents are saying if he doesn’t get his way with him playing in LA for the Clippers or NY with the Nets or Knicks.

Should be interesting to see if he gets his way. Check out his Stats and see how he is a Player and really does help win games.
