The Broncos will have another chance this week to show that they can play in cold weather. This time, it’ll be on Thursday night when they welcome divisional rival San Diego to town. While the Broncos look to improve their record in the AFC in hopes of getting home field advantage throughout the playoffs, the Chargers need a win just to stay in the conversation.

The Broncos are coming off a 51-28 win over the Titans this past weekend. And over the course of the last two games, the Broncos offense has been lighting defenses up for 1,086 total yards. Peyton Manning has accounted for 800 of those yards, including nine touchdowns on 39 completions. He finds himself at 45 touchdowns, which is only five shy of Tom Brady’s record in 2007. Manning would love to reclaim that record with just three games left in the season, and Broncos fans would love to see it happen in front of the home crowd.

The Chargers are coming off a win of their own. Theirs came in the way of a 51-28 thumping of the Giants. But after already getting beat by the Broncos once this season, you have to think that the deck is stacked against the Chargers in this one. The Chargers have zero room for error if they want to make the playoffs, but even wins in their final three games doesn’t guarantee them a spot.

However, the Broncos are currently a 10 ½ point favorite over the Chargers for Thursdays game. And with everyone healthy for the Broncos, they’ll be looking to back up their claim that they can run up the scoreboard, no matter the weather conditions. With Manning so close to personal records and his team needing to continually prove themselves, don’t expect them to take it easy on a divisional team like San Diego.
